The Iowa Chapter is again looking for folks to help plan and chair events in 2020! Have you ever thought of an idea for an event, but weren’t sure how to make it a reality? Did we host something that you enjoyed in the past, but we don’t do it anymore? Come out to Alison and Chris’ house for some Pizza on Sunday November 17 at 11:30 am and help us plan the 2020 calendar of events. As an extra incentive there will be Pizza and Brown Pop (translation BEER!). Hope to see you there. Look for the Club Banners out front.
Alison and Chris’ house, 6090 Nottingham Dr., Jonhnston, IA 50131
It’s in a small retail center just north of I-80 and east of 86th Street behind the Burger King. Those participating will taste 5-6 wines (Allan & Gina’s selection of white and red) and have the opportunity to complement those wines with perhaps a cheese plate or personal pizzette should you decide to purchase those food items. The store also has a large selection craft beers, chocolates and gift items..perhaps something there as a holiday gift item? Come enjoy a bit of pre-holiday fun with fellow club members!
|This year’s event will be the third held at this new location (NOT Waterworks Park) with 100% of the $20.00 per car entry fee going to grant wishes for Iowa kids. Last year it was a great experience and those who attended felt it a unique experience from previous years’ events at Waterworks Park. Kick off your holiday season with friends enjoying the 2.5 mile drive and the over 100 illuminated holiday displays while benefitting a great cause for kids. More info on the event can be found here: https://iowa.wish.org/news-and-events/calendar-of-events/november/event-detail-page
Tickets may be purchased in advance beginning in November at Hy Vee or Casey’s or online now prior to November 1st for a discounted price of $18.00 per car https://app.tikly.co/events/3480.
RSVP: Please let Rick Talbot ( firstname.lastname@example.org) know if you’re planning on attending so we can have an idea of participants and also, if you’d be staying for the casual dinner following the drive. Dinner will be at Wig and Pen, 2005 S Ankeny Blvd #300, Ankeny, IA 50023 after the lights tour. They are known for their deep dish pizza but can see all their offerrings on their menu here: https://www.wigandpenpizza.com/ankeny-des-moines-wig-and-pen-pizza-pub/
